Visions of Sugarplums

I want to share all these great Christmas products with you before it is too late for this season. Recently I was able to review a cookbook ebook called A Collection of Christmas Cookery. This book cost 7.00 dollars and is well worth it. Not only does it have some great recipes but it has family traditions, inspirational quotes, and great Christmas books to read. I love how it has a homey feel to it. The vintage pictures are wonderful, of course I love Vintage! I love Christmas and I love to get great ideas about making memories for the holidays.

There are recipes for all of these: Perfect holiday food. The recipes are divided into four sections for Appetizers/Beverages/Breads, Meat/Side Dishes, Cookies/Desserts/Candies, and Miscellaneous

Gingerbread Waffles
Warm Cranberry Punch
Sweet Potato Casserole
Moravian Cookies
Toffee Squares
Epiphany Cake
Julgrot (Swedish Rice Pudding)
Triple Layer Brownies
Vintage Molasses Cake

It is different getting an ebook for recipes, some prefer a real book however the advantage is you can print out just what you want, there are always recipes you are not interested in making and those you wouldn't have to print. For 7.00 this ebook is worth it! You will find many gems throughtout!

Symbols of Christmas

Do you like lapbooks? You can't do lapbooks without hearing about In The Hands Of A Child. They are the pros when it comes to lapbooks and they have so many categories with many subjects featured. I was excited to get to review Symbols of Christmas (perfect for this time of the year) Again, something perfect for those workboxes. Just print off the part you want to work on and throw it in a box and by the end of the week have a completed lapbook.

They symbols of Christmas are so important and all have wonderful meanings. Here is a list of what symbols you and your child would learn about.

Advent Wreath and Calendar
Christmas Cards
Gift Giving
Christmas Tree
Christmas Lights
Christmas Ornaments
Holly
Poinsettia
The myth behind the abbreviation Xmas
Nativity scenes
Colors of Christmas
Candy Canes
Saint Nicolas and Santa Claus

They give you the definition of every symbol and also have suggested books if you want to look into each subject more in depth. Perfect for the book basket if you do My Fathers World. This ebook was easy to print off and very easy to teach and at the end you know so much about symbols and you have a beautiful ebook at the end.

This review is part of the MamaBuzz blog tour. I received a free copy of The Symbols of Christmas project pack to complete this review

Christmas Gift Ideas For Workboxes

Do you have family members and friends asking for wish list for your kids? There are many things I thought would be great ideas for your wish list that are educational and perfect for workboxes. Even if you don't do workboxes these ideas would be great for homeschooling. I thought I would just post random ideas throughout the month that I have thought of. It is nice to get gifts that are educational for your children and help in your homeschooling, kinda of like the gift that keeps giving. So many times our family want ideas and these would make great ones. Some of these ideas would also make good stocking stuffers.

I know not everyone is really creative in making special things (I'm not, although I do steal some ideas) and some of us like us work at home moms don't have a lot of time for printing and laminating. These activities are so easy and you don't have to be creative.

My 11yr old LOVES these, makes his day to have these in his box and we all know how fun mad libs are AND they are wonderful to reinforce grammar rules.

My kids LOVE Kumon workbooks, they are so colorful and so fun. The best part is you just tear out the page, add a glue stick, or/and scissors and voila a workbox activity. They have these in many categories. This is a workbook your kids will look forward to doing.

Widgets are really fun, once you start building you can't stop. It is one of those toys you get and you think okay, what will I do with that and then all of a sudden you can't stop playing with it. Perfect for workboxes.
Stay tuned for more ideas to come....

Happy Birthday Sam!

Eleven years ago I gave birth to my first child. I had no idea what being a mother would entail. I truly was clueless. I have a very difficult delivery that ended up in an emergency c-section, and a recovery process that I thought would never end but in my arms I had my first son. A little man who had colic for the first 3 months of his life. I remember starting the shower after putting him safe in his crib and just listening to the water run to give myself a break from the crying. It was a tough beginning to say the least but after getting used to the challenge of parenting and him growing out of his colic we (my husband and I)realized we were totally in love with this little boy. He has the deepest dimples and the most beautiful eyes and from 6 months on has had the most tender heart I have ever known. God has given him such a sweet spirit and we couldn't be more proud of him. He woke up this morning so excited about his birthday and we had such a wonderful day with him, he picked tacos for dinner and chocolate cake. We feel so blessed to have this boy in our family. Happy Birthday Sam, we love you so much!

Typing Instructor For Kids

I was so excited to get a typing program to review. My oldest has been begging to learn to type and I just have not had the time. This is a perfect program to get your child used to the keyboard and used to proper fingering for typing. And it is ONLY 8.00, you can't beat that at all. This program is for ages 6-12.

The program is really a game and that makes it fun for kids. It comes as a CD and was very easy to install. The learn one level at a time and you can set the program to where your child starts and they place them after that moving them through levels and they progress. I love that! The graphics are really good-my son is 11 so he is on the older end for this and some of the talking things are little young for him, however when a program is 6-12, that is a pretty wide range and it would be perfect for the younger ones.

This program is a lot of fun, it is a perfect introduction to typing and would also make a wonderful workbox activity-throw the CD in a box and make it a timed activity. My son was thrilled this was in a box this morning.

This product was provided by Timberdoodle Co. to MamaBuzz and it's reviewers for reviewing purposes.
